1. Product Overview

Designed specifically for gymnasts, cheerleading, tumbling, martial arts, parkour, gymnasiums and school sports.

2. Introduction

Congratulations with the purchase of your new Air Product, you’re almost ready to start perfecting new skills. Firstly we advise users read through this entire manual, please give specific attention to user safety.

2.1 Unpacking

All About Gymnastics pride themselves on ensuring they provide a quality service, all products and contents are inspected and air products tested before dispatch.  Please be careful not to penetrate the contents of your package with sharp objects, inflatable products can easily be damaged if sharp objects come into contact with your product. In the unlikely event that your order is badly damaged in transit please do not accept the goods and phone +44 (0) 1322384003 for advice. We will require this to also be followed up by email with photographic confirmation of the damage.

2.2 Product checklist

It is very important you check your order when it arrives, please ensure your order matches everything included in your package. In the unlikely event that parts are missing please email sales@allabout-gymnastics.co.uk  immediately.

3. Getting Started

3.1 Setting up your product

All About Gymnastics Air Products come in varying sizes, please ensure you select a suitable location and ensure there is room for the product to be fully inflated.

If using your Air Product outside please ensure the ground is completely clear of debris or other potentially sharp objects, for further protection you must always use a ground cover.

3.2 Inflating your product

Before inflation you must fully unroll your Air Product, it is also recommended that you check you have adequate room to access your Air Products inflation valve. If using an electric blower please ensure electrics are clear from water, in the unfortunate event that any part of your pump gets wet you must not use it. In addition please check cables are not damaged, do not over extend cables or air hoses as this can cause serious harm to the user.

When ready to inflate your Air Product please use the correct valve fitting supplied, should you misplace your valve fitting spares can be obtained from All About Gymnastics. Any use of an incorrect valve fitting may cause damage to the valve inlet, please be aware this will void any warranty claim. Your Air Product will come with one or two valves, first twist the close cap counter clockwise to gain access to the valve. Once access has been obtained please ensure valves are in the closed position (i.e. pin out).

When inserting your valve fitting into your Air Product you must twist clockwise and lock into position to cause a seal, be careful to ensure it sits flush when inserting into the valve. When inserting and twisting the valve fitting excessive force should not be applied, this will damage the valve and indicates that the valve fitting has not be inserted flush with the valve inlet. Once your pump is connected you are ready to inflate your Air Product.

Remember never to over inflate your Air Product, this can cause damaged to the pump, your Air Product and risks injury to the user as it will reduce bounce. Once you have inflated your Air Product to your preferred pressure remove your valve fitting and replace all close cap(s) twisting clockwise.

Special Note

  • Please note if using your own electric pump please ensure you do not over inflate your air product as this will void your warranty. The electric pump sold by All About Gymnastics is designed not to allow this situation to happen as air will escape from the pump when your air product is at maximum pressure.
  • We have found that customers using camping / mattress pumps have been unable to inflate their air products to the correct pressure due to these pumps not being powerful enough. This problem can be resolved if customers top off the pressure using a foot pump with the inflation nozzle supplied with your air product.

3.3 Problem solving

Should your Air Product leak air first check all valves are in the closed position. You can determine this by removing the close cap and checking to see if the central pin is in the out position, this will ensure the valve is in the closed position and will create a seal to stop any air from escaping. If you are still not clear about this procedure please call All About Gymnastics on +44 (0) 1322384003, we will be more than happy to talk you through the steps required.

Please note it is not uncommon for an inflatable product to lose pressure overnight due to temperature changes, we recommend you check the pressure before every use to ensure it is at a safe pressure.

4. Using Your Product

4.1 Ground preparation

Whether you’re using your Air Product indoors or outside, it is important you ensure the surface is clear from the smallest of objects and larger forms of debris. Placing your Air Product on any hard surface can risk punctures if the surface has not been cleared, it is important you always use a ground cover between your Air Product and the surface it will be used on.

4.2 User safety

PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ ALL THESE SAFETY GUIDELINES BEFORE USING YOUR AIR PRODUCT.

  • Never use any electrical items if they get wet.
  • Before using your Air Product it is important a ground cover or other suitable mat is used, this will help protect against damage and wear.
  • Never drag your Air Product across the floor as this will cause damage.
  • Make sure there is adequate clearance around and above the intended use of the Air Product. If used on a hard surface it is advisable to place some form of training crash mat around your Air Product.
  • Never use your Air Product on a slope or uneven ground as this could cause injury to the user.
  • Never carry any sharp objects/glass onto the Air Product. The user must ensure nothing presents an immediate danger nearby, failing to check this could cause injury to the user and damage to your Air Product.
  • Do not wear shoes on your Air Product.
  • Before using your Air Product check it is inflated at the correct pressure for the intended user, this can be safely carried out by the user performing a simple number of small jumps. Please ensure when you bounce you do not feel the ground beneath you, if this is the case please add more pressure. As a rule lower pressure is more suited for recreational use. Raising the pressure simulates a more competitive training floor and is used mainly by more qualified athletes.
  • Do not use your Air Product in wet conditions as the user could slip and cause injury. Should your Air Product become wet stop using it and dry with a towel.
  • Please be aware landing near the corners of your Air Product may cause the user injury. It is also advisable to note where your valves are situated, these are made from hard plastic and could cause either injury or damage.
  • Do not use your Air Product in wet conditions as the user could slip and cause injury. Should your Air Product become wet stop using it and dry with a towel.
  • Air products will naturally lose pressure overnight therefore it is important the user checks the pressure before every use.
  • Be sure to use your Air Product responsibly.

5. Faults

5.1 Detecting air leaks

  • We recommend you mix a small amount of washing up liquid in a jug of water.
  • Use a small paint brush applying the soapy water around all the side material and seams. You will spot the air leak as the soapy water will bubble where the leak is.
  • If no leaks are apparent on the side material carry out the above method on the DWF surface (jumping area) and look for small bubbles to appear when applying the soapy water.
  • If you are still unable to identify any leaks take your inflated mat outside and rest it on a flat surface. Get a bucket of water and pour onto all areas of the DWF surface, if bubbles become visible you have found the leak (please check both sides of your mat).

5.2 Repairing A Puncture

Repair Guide

  • Step 1. Cut a circular or rectangular patch from the material supplied in the repair kit (use an appropriate size coin to mark the repair material patch to be cut if using circular patch).
  • Step 2. Depending on where the hole is – you will need to determine whether your track is slightly inflated or deflated.
  • Step 3. Ensure the surface area where the track is damaged is clean and dry.
  • Step 4. Apply a generous amount of glue to your patch ensuring there is enough to spread to the edges of your patch when pressed onto the track covering the hole (glue can be applied with a small art paint brush). Clean any surplus glue that may spread out once the patch is applied.
  • Step 5. If you have a small roller (like a wall paper roller) its handy to roll the patch whilst applying some heat with a hair dryer. Whilst applying this heat roll the patch edges down to ensure you create a seal, maintain this heat for 5 minutes then leave for 24hrs.

Air products repair 5.3 Checking your patch is airtight.

  • Step 1. Inflate your track to its desired pressure then apply a small amount of soapy water to test for leaks.
  • Step 2. If bubbles appear from the patch dry the surface off and release the air from your track.
  • Step 3. Apply a small amount of glue to the edge where it is leaking then apply heat with a hair dryer. Leave to dry for 4hrs then test again.
